Originally hailing from New Haven, CT, I am in my final year as a an undergraduate in Montana State's Physics program. While the mountains and the university's excellent film department drew me here, I have found a great experience within the Physics department. As Bozeman is a hotspot for pioneering optics research and technology, I have enjoyed great exposure to this particular field. The Student Solar Spectrograph Competition seemed like the perfect way to integrate this experience into a senior project, and the creative and interdisciplinary aspects of the competition were a fun and exciting bonus! I would like to continue working with optical technologies and have also found a passion for science communication. My other interests include most things outdoors so staying in beautiful Bozeman is also on my agenda. I encourage anyone considering this opportunity to go for it, and good luck!
