The Harriett G. Jenkins Pre-doctoral Fellowship Program employs the best practices for advancing increased numbers of women, minorities, and persons with disabilities participating in the math, science, engineering, and technology disciplines. Annually, up to 20 U.S. citizens are selected to receive up to three years of fellowship support leading to doctoral degrees in NASA-related disciplines. Fellowships are awarded to applicants who have been accepted into or who are currently attending an accredited Masters or Doctoral program. With stipends, travel allowances and tuition offsets included, award packages currently start at $24,500 per year.
Applicants must be citizens of the U.S. including Puerto Rico, The Virgin Islands, and other U.S. territories.
Applicants must be a member of an underrepresented group that includes women, minorities, and disabled persons.
Applicants must be applying for graduate school or within the first 3 years of graduate work at an accredited U.S. university.
Applicants must have and maintain a minimum acceptable grade point average of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale.
Applicants must not participate in any other federally funded fellowship or scholarship program.
