Distributed Object-Oriented Computing for Advanced Rocket Engine Design
PI: Dr. Timothy S. Olson, Salish Kootenai College
This project will startup a new scientific and engineering computing research group at Salish Kootenai College. The P.I. and two undergraduate assistants worked full-time for ten weeks in the summer of 1999 to research the application of distributed object-oriented computing methods to the design of advanced space propulsion systems. Specific attention will be devoted to modeling solid core nuclear thermal rocket engine designs that are appropriate for manned Mars exploration missions.
