SPOT ambassadors are professionally trained higher education students who utilize unique NASA content to become inspirational STEM role models for K-12 students and teachers. This is done by bringing interactive presentations to schools across Montana.

Ambassador Details

  • A paid position, starting at $15 an hour.
  • Open to undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Must be enrolled in a STEM or Education Discipline.
  • Receive training and certification for current SPOT show.
  • Attend weekly meetings.
  • Travel to schools, and provide interactive presentation.

Policies Regarding SPOT Pay:

  • SPOT ambassadors must present a show before receiving any compensation each semester.
  • Compensation includes any hours obtained via SPOT meetings, SPOT seminars, certification presentation (if certified) to your manager(s), office work or helping with miscellaneous events. 
  • SPOT ambassadors are also compensated for travel to presentations.
  • Certified presenters will start at $15.00 an hour.
  • MSGC will help keep track of these hours for each semester.
  • All payroll concerns should be reported directly to Chris Flynn (christina.flynn1@montana.edu).  Chris will work closely with managers to ensure accurate compensation.

Please submit your hours within 24 hours of returning from your trip.

Keep a record of hours worked and once you are in the MSU payroll system you will also enter them on your MSU timecard.
